THE SKILLS CENTRE
 The Skills Centre offers you the chance to learn the skills that can lead to employment in a particular industry or to complete vocational training that can lead to tertiary study. This training is recognised throughout Australia. Many of these courses will also allow you to gain South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) units either directly or indirectly through VET in SACE arrangements.
These courses are offered in packages that include a substantial amount of work in a real or simulated workplace. They are offered during the day, often in blocks of time, but this varies according to the particular program.
Some Information Technology and Mining courses may also be offered in the evenings.
Work Placement is an integral component of many of The Skills Centre courses. You will be expected to demonstrate competency at performing the skills you have learnt in the work place. You will also learn the competencies and expectations employers have for entry into their industry or business. Successful students will maximise their opportunities for employment in the industry.
